I am reading The Saints by Lex Thomas and I have read 122 pages this week. This book is about a kid named Will trapped inside of his high school because of a virus. While in the quarantine, he makes friends with Gates and joins a gang called the Saints. In this section Will tries to get back the only girl he has ever loved. In this paper I will be connecting and evaluating.

In this section Lex Thomas characterizes Gates very well. The first characteristic of Gates is, he likes to throw parties. Gates likes to throw parties because he throws them every day and he makes the parents give him outrageous things because he his holding their son hostage. He throws parties every day by drinking a lot at his parties and everyone goes to his parties when he throws them. Also, Gates’s …show more content…
Also, Gates kills Pruitt because he told Gates the truth about his brother because Pruitt was there when Gates killed his brother Colton. He is also crazy because he is obsessed with Will. Gates is obsessed with Will by wanting Will to tell him he loves him and constantly hugs Will to feel loved. Also, after Will escapes Gates is annoyed that Will got away. All in all, the characterization is that he is crazy and he loves to party.In The Saints there is a chance for a connection for almost everyone because they are trapped in something they do not like. I made a connection because I did not like Human Geography for a class. In Human Geography class I did not like the KIVA project and the map quizzes every week. I did not like the KIVA project because you had to present in front of the class and there was a lot of work put into the project itself not including preparing the speech. Also, I did not like it because we did not get any money for our person and I felt like, I let him down. Also, I did not like Human Geography because of the map quizzes. Some of the map quizzes were more difficult than others.
