Howie and Kevin have different views of sports. Kevin loves to play Cromwell and Cromwell is a very energetic dog that loves to play outside. So Kevin got this idea to do a Paw Patch but of course he has to asked his parents. Kevin chooses his dad because he was the sporty one but Howie was very skeptical. Howie thinks that dog races or challenges aren't a sport. He thinks that all sports have balls or in some way using one. So Howie has a really good argument with Kevin.
Kevin then tries to start his little mini showcase of what his dog can do. He plays along with it to show off for his dad to hopefully try and convince him to letting him join. Kevin's plan worked for a while until there was an accident with the equipment in use. Some of…show more content… He thinks that because it involves balls his dad would go with it. An hour later Howie arrives to see small nets and Cromwell wearing one of Izzy's small soccer jerseys. There was a pause of suspense in Howie’s eyes. Kevin walks through the door with a referee costume and a whistle with a bag of treats. You could tell by Howie’s eyes that he is completely altered by this. Kevin blows the whistle. Cromwell uses his nose to follow up the ball as he is going straight towards the net. He was doing great by just him going really fast with his “dribbling” and control. Mind you that Cromwell is very hyper and is not new to running really fast. One thing Kevin did was also call some other one of his neighbors to bring over his dog. They did dribbling and one vs one and Cromwell one. Howie then screams “ENOUGH!”
“Kevin you have proved to me that this is a sport and that dogs have brains to” Howie informs him. Howie does pay for the Paw Patch for Kevin and Cromwell which ended out great. Howie was surprised that Kevin wanted this that badly and should have realized that a dream is a dream and the people around you are supposed to help you accomplish it. Howie now trains and helps teach Cromwell some tricks. When Cromwell has an injury he aids him until he is better. At the end of the day, they all get what is deserved for
