This paper will highlight what it means to be a profession in the Human Resources and The Army professional culture.
As a Human Resources NCO, a Profession starts with the Soldier sitting in the seat ready to work for the betterment of the team. Human Resources NCO are trained to ready to engage to assist the first Soldier that walks in the door to help and further his or her career. I witnessed a good Human Resources NCO who positively affected the morale of a unit, by correcting deficiencies in the Enlisted Records Brief (ERB). Subsequently, the Soldier was able to get promoted. That Human Resources NCO continues to assist Soldiers on all topics and trains other Human Resources NCOs, I so I see that as what it means to be a profession in the field of human resource personnel.

Trust must be instilled from a leader to subordinate is paramount in the growth of the Army as a whole. You train as you fight on the Human Resources side we train to get the soldiers in the right mental state of mind. This fight assists Soldiers not to worry of pay, promotion, awards and family issues. In my opinion that is what a Human Resources NCOs responsibility is to facilitate the needs of others. Professions earn the trust of their soldiers by completing tasks for the betterment of the team and not themselves. A Human Resources Profession helps others grow over their own
