HS 4995 – UNIT 1 DISCUSSION ASSIGNMENT Brief introduction: My name is Michelle Erasmus, and I am from South Africa. After my graduation, I want to apply for a Virtual Internship, as promoted by our university last year, and see if I can be appointed to work remotely for a multinational company in a position that requires a BSc Health Science Degree. Being 62, it would be challenging to find a position in South Africa as it is close to retirement age, but there are opportunities to become a medical translator and earn in dollars. Another essential characteristic is that it should relate to the researcher and their environment, as the possible participants would be from a particular geographic area, depending on the topic and question in mind (Flockhart & Abernethy, 2008). Furthermore, having an exciting and brilliant research question, the type of design may unravel other intriguing information that could enrich and enlighten the research, thus leading to new phenomena to be researched (Ratan, Anand & Ratan, 2019). My approach to developing my research question in HS 4990: I would begin with a broad topic and then narrow it down to focus on one specific question, which became the result of my planned research.
