Some of the specific information that I would introduce to Maria in helping her make changes to ensure the safety of her baby is by telling her she needs to take care of herself by eating right, taking prenatal vitamins, and limiting her exposure to environmental hazards and situations that could potentially lead the fetus to harmful diseases. I would also touch on subjects such as risk factors that are involved in engaging in harmful behaviors. If Maria is under any type of emotional stress during her pregnancy, her baby is at risk. This includes a possible miscarriage, premature birth, low birth weight, sleep disorders, and digestive illnesses to name a few.
