This could be very depressing for a boy like him, but that's what kind of makes him stronger. Is not easy to deal with an alcoholic person and that's what he has for a father. The connection between both of them is nothing compared to a real relationship between a father and a son. His father should be at least proud of his son for the effort that he is making to be a successful person. Even though he has gone through much, Huck is trying to be someone different now that he sees that he has this great opportunity of having a person taking care of him and his education, which is the widow. His father is very selfish because he doesn’t want his son to learn the basic needs of life such as: reading and writing. Huck is having a good life with the widow, why he disappears and then interferes in his son's life like nothing happened? He kind of does all this just for money to be able to maintain his addiction. He is addicted to alcohol because it seems that he can't stop drinking and getting in trouble all the time that he gets drunk. Besides his obsession of keeping his son away from everyone until he gets the money, he is kind of seems that he has some mental issues. Who gets to the point of trying to kill their own son?, that is just unbelievable for a family member to do.
