Throughout the course of my life, I always knew that I wanted an in a career where helping others and traveling. I could have never imagined having a career in Human Resources and pursuing my master’s degree. I knew that with the opportunity of being a Human Resources Intern that I could genuinely continue my career in Human Resources. Not only am I working with people and helping them, but I can also travel to different cities and attend various events representing my employer. Being able to have a career in this field allows me to learn more about people, find out their interests, and assist them in landing their dream job. My other short-term goal is obtaining my certification to be a certified Human Resources professional. To earn that certification, I will be taking the Society for Human Resource Management (S.H.R.M) assessment. My long-term goal is to become a Human Resources Manager for a Fortune 500 company. Also, I would like to create a skincare business and have my product sold in stores such as Target or Wal-Mart. The skincare products will be affordable for all users, and I want to hold events where consumers can sample the product and write reviews on how the product(s) affected their skin.
With the skincare line, I believe that constructive feedback from the consumers is essential to ensure that customers are getting the most out of the products. I think that feedback is the same for working as Recruiter. Therefore, I make sure that candidates have a smooth process and tell them what will be expected in the role, in which they qualify. In all, my short and long-term goals are to increase my human resources skills, create my own skincare products, and obtain my certification of becoming a human resource professional. I am very open to learning any and everything about the field, for it genuinely enthuses me. Starting in this field will continue to build my communication skills, for in recruiting it’s more of a sales position. You are selling the company to candidates, and the clients are selling themselves to companies. Also, this position allows me to convince hiring managers that they have the right candidate if they do not feel that they are a good fit for a role. Also, I will be able to meet candidates in person at career fairs and learn about their interests. This will enable me to remember various candidates that I speak with and recognize the candidates that made a great impression.
