Many people have the idea this problems are solved since Newspapers or the internet doesn’t create much highlight on them but the truth is worrying. Around the world an estimated 40.3 million people are in modern slavery, including 24.9 in forced labor and 15.4 million in forced marriage. Human Trafficking is directly linked with forced labor and exploitation since over 16 million of the trafficked victims suffer either forced labor or exploitation. Forced Labor victims don’t spend much time on their duties, about 20 months, but, this is a problem that has to be solve immediately. Currently China is placed in Tier 3, the lowest possible score in Human Trafficking reports. Although Human Trafficking isn’t very common forced labor is, even though it is officially prohibit. Internationally, Chinese citizens are trafficked into Thailand, Malaysia, Europe, the United States of America, Vietnam, Burma, Myanmar, and rural parts of China to work in factories getting paid less than the minimum. To eradicate this problem the Chinese government has created at least 320 re-education through labor camps, which aren’t as effective as they could be, due to the fact that are run differently depending on each state. Another of China’s greatest problems is sex trafficking, which is very similar to human trafficking. China is home to a thriving sex trade, which mostly comes from trafficking and selling young women and girls for marriage, this is consider one of the effects of the one child policy since most families demonstrated a preference toward male children it resulted in a disproportional high number of men in China. Another of the repercussions of this policy is the rise of prostitution, there is an estimated of 4 to 6 million sex workers in China. The worst part is not only Chinese women but, also women from the
