Congratulations to all of us for making it past HIGHSCHOOL! The first thing I will talk about in this speech is about my amazing immigrant parents. My parents came to this country so I can have a better education. They had to leave their home place in Ecuador which included their family/ friends so I can have a better life and have the best education. One of the most important lessons was not to take the little things for granted like before the pandemic, all of us had to wear a mask to every classroom we went to, even to go outside. I never thought twice about talking with friends in the hallway/gathering in a crowded cafeteria for lunch and when those simple everyday life moments were suddenly taken away. Now, I will think about every moment spent with friends, every smile exchanged in the hallway, and every opportunity to make memories together., navigating high school after COVID-19 taught me to appreciate the little things and cherish the relationships that bring joy and meaning to my life. These lessons have shaped me into a more grateful, empathetic, and resilient individual, ready to face whatever challenges the future may hold. Going through high school during COVID-19 was like going on a big adventure with lots of surprises. Sometimes we had to learn online, and other times we went to school part-time. Every day brings something new to figure out. Even though it was tough, I learned how to be strong and flexible.
