The Competition in the Hunger Games
There are 12 districts in Panem, the country where the Hunger Games are played. The lower districts are better and stronger than the higher districts. In district 1, 2, and 4 the career tributes live and train for the Hunger Games. However, in all the other districts, the tributes do not train for the Hunger Games. There is never much going on and the residents can barely make ends meet. The career tributes train for the Games their entire life. Katniss, the main person in the book is from District 12 and she has been training for the games her entire life but only for survival as she has to feed her mother and sister as well as herself. She has never planned to participate in the games as she was just hunting for food for her family. The career tributes have been waiting to go and participate in the games their whole life. They start to train for the Hunger Games at an early age as they compete again

The game makers call each tribute in one at a time to see each tributes skills. Then they will give the higher grade to the one that was able to throw the best during the time the game makers watched them. With the higher the grade, the more sponsors the players will get. A sponsor is a person who gives each tribute things during the game such as weapons, food, and medicine. They all are controlled by Haymitch. He gets the gifts and at a certain times he sends them to the tribes that he feels needs them the most. Haymitch, Effie, and Cinna have a great influence and impact on Katniss. They gave her strong recommendations and got her good sponsors. They did everything in their power to help her achieve the best attention at the Hunger Games. Haymitch did the most to help her I think by making them star crossed lovers that worked well together. Also Cinna did her part by having them wear matching outfits that gave them both more
