The thoughts and ideas that Hunter Thompson presents in his letter bring up deep insights about our lives as a whole, and in response, I completely agree with his valuable concepts. It is interesting that humans often look at the future through the lens of a goal: one thing or another has to be done or completed sometime in the future, where the success in reaching that goal entirely depends on your self-motivation to do so. Thompson’s point about the goal of reaching a fireman when you were younger connected me on more of a personal level than the rest of his statements, as I was one of those stereotypical children, wanting to become a police officer or a teacher.
