How many people died during hurricane Maria ? It has been reported that 45 people died due to the hurricane. In the caribbean there were 49 deaths occurred. Several as in thousands need to evacuate as soon as possible because they don't have water and won't for days . Millions still without power ! 3.4 million people are still without power. Only 14 hospitals have power and 51 hospitals have a generator. The Category 4 storm knocked down 80% of the transmission lines. The damage is so bad that if they fix it then Puerto Rico will be in debt of 9 billion dollars !
