Hypnos, the greek god of sleep, lives a relatively gloomy life. Houses in caves, with no doors, surrounded by hypnotic plants rarely gets visitors. In boring circumstances, Hypnos usually just sleeps, but sometimes he goes outside his cave and into the world. One day, Hypnos was wondering in the woods when he came across Artemis. Struck by her beauty, he immediately fell in love with her. Knowing nothing previously about Artemis, he invited her to his home, but she had to refuse due to woods-watching and virginity-prospering obligations. Wanting to pursue their relationship, Hypnos asked her if she could stop by later. Artemis, attempting to spare his feelings, said she might, with no intentions of doing so. Confused and slightly annoyed, Hypnos decided to return to his slumber. Waking up again, Hypnos was furious. He stormed out of his cave, looking for Artemis. Although his intentions were to search every last inch of the woods, his laziness got the best of him. His attempts to find her were fruitless. He returned home tired and depressed. Hypnos tried to sleep it off but awoke just as surly as before. Eager to have his revenge, Hypnos devised a plan. Knowing Artemis’s love for animals, Hypnos made all the animals fall asleep and swore to never wake them up until Artemis promised to be with him. After a while, Artemis noticed that all the animals gone and confronted Hypnos about it. He told Artemis what his expectations were, assuming she would carry them out. However, Artemis did the opposite. She went to her father, Zeus, and explained the situation. Zeus, having no care for menial situations like this, sent her away. Artemis, wanting to fix the situation, went to the other gods and goddesses. She showed them how all of their sacred animals were all asleep. Furious they tried to convince Hypnos to wake them, but Hypnos would not budge. Without a sacred animal, Hypnos could not sympathize for the
