She writes about all these amazing apps such as Google’s instant messaging, Gchat as well as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat that help her keep her long distance relationship intact. Although I agree with Wortham that social media has made it possible for us to stay in touch with family members around the world I cannot except the fact the she believes that this technology is bringing society closer together. Social media has only exaggerated that desire in forms of having the most friends on Facebook or the most retweets, this can even cause some people to allow strangers to follow them on Instagram, Snapchat etc..
