After pouring the water into the beaker, a thermometer was used, and placed inside of the beaker in order to measure and record the temperature of the ice-cold water (22.7 °C).Taking an Alka-Seltzer tablet, the tablet was split in half by breaking it apart and placing it into the beaker. Once the tablet was placed in water, the start button was pressed on the stop watch in order to record the amount of time taken for the tablet to completely dissolve within the water.
