Idol of the Den The Idol of the Den/Cave derived from personal thoughts of an individuals mind. It requires the greatest caution because corrupts the understanding. Bacon believed this idol required a lot of attention because a individual could create his own agenda without meaning to. Idols of the Den promote self-intererst and indiviulism that creates a bias opion towards nature.
