The University of Konigsberg rejected Kant from professorship twice, although he had been offered the position of professor of poetry at the University of Berlin , that he turned down. In 1770 the University of Konigsberg, came around and appointed him the professor of logic and metaphysics. Kant did not publish anything for eleven years, but remained figuring out his philosophy. During this time he was living a very routine schedule, that became legendary. His neighbors would know that it was precisely half past three o’clock , when Immanuel Kant, in his grey coat, cane in hand, appeared at the door of his house, and started walking towards the small avenue of the linden trees is known as “The Philosopher’s Walk” (Strathern).
