I was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas located in the border next to Mexico. Brownsville is a place where the people are proud to celebrate our cultures and heritage. Growing up in a town on the border of Mexico means being bilingual, having great food and traditions; however, it comes with challenges.
I am the oldest of three girls, and both my parents are undocumented, but they came to the United States to give my sisters and I a better future. When my parents first came to the U.S they had no money and no place to live. Both my parents being undocumented and looking for a job was very difficult, especially having a child to take care of.
