When reminiscing about the cherished moments in my life, I often think about the memories of all the people who I have met and considered family because of my parent’s “open house policy.” Although my house is average in size, my parents believed that if someone was in need, we would be there with open hearts and a home that acted as a sanctuary for many. Throughout life, multiple families and college students from various countries have called my house a home. My house was constantly alive with the sound of laughter and talking, that warmed the atmosphere. Through all the shared meals, conversations, and moments shared in everyday life, those who have lived in my house have become not just friends, but family. Even as they move out and succeed in life, we keep in touch and support one another through hardships and our accomplishments.
