1. In the Americas the politics would vary. The Pueblos would have councils in each villages consisting of 10-30 men, but there was no higher government that would connect one Pueblo village to the next. For the nomadic hunters it was the same as the Pueblos, there was no government connecting the separate bands together. Unlike the nomadic hunters and the Pueblos the Iroquois had a government system. The government grouped villages into nations and nations into a confederation. The Iroquois had a Council that would make decision on if the confederation would fight or remain peaceful. The Council would consist of representatives from each nation. The agricultural people would live in villages and inside the villages there would be large homes. Inside the homes would live family, including extended family. The family that would live there would all be related to the mother of the house. In Agricultural society the lineage would go through the mother instead of through the father.. the agricultural people would build wooden palisades and ditches to help them fend off attackers. Whereas the nomadic Americans would count on their ability to move from place to place. The nomadic people’s lineage went through the fathers instead of the mothers. Since the nomadic people went from place to place they had no villages to live in. Throughout the Americas the people all were polytheistic. In agricultural societies their gods were related to farming and most their festivals would take place around the harvest. Whereas the nomadic societies gods were related to animals and most of their festivals were related to hunting. The agricultural Americans economy was prosperous since they didn’t have to worry about finding food, whereas the nomadic people had to travel and look around for food. The Europeans desired the gold that was naturally in the Americas. The Spanish conquistadors mined all of the gold out of Mexico which led to Spain’s economic downfall. Traders discovered that North America had a lot of fish and beavers. The traders started to trade metals for animal pelts and would then send the pelts back to Europe. In trading for beaver pelts so often, beavers almost went extinct. Traders realized that North America had fertile land, so they brought over their own plants to plant in the nitrous dirt. Traders also learned about potatoes and corn. They brought the potatoes and corn back to Europe. These two crops gave Europeans more ways to get
