But the one that sticks out to me the most is the nature's indifference. We can see that nature is the basis of this story. He starts off the story about talking about the sky and then ends it with talking about the voice from the sea. The men's relationship with nature is a very crucial element in the story. The men at first believe that the sea is punishing them because of how rough the waters are and the fact that they have made it so close to surviving but can't make it to land. The house is a character in the story that is full of darkness. The narrator is called to the house by his friend that lives there. The friend exclaims that he is sick and needs help. The narrator rushes over to his noticing how mysterious and creepy it is. When he enters the house, he realises that the inside is just as bad as the out. He tries to help his friend but then his friends sitter dies and so he seems to get more sick. They bury her under the house because he does not want anyone to dig her up and do experiments on her. As he continues to get sicker, the narrator decides to read to him to help him go to sleep but his sister comes back to life to kill her brother from a heart attack and the narrator runs out of the house just in time to see it collapses and everyone and thing is
