My older sister contacted me one day concerned about infertility. She has never been pregnant before. This causes her to wonder if there is a problem and when she should consider to seek intervention from physicians. Julia, is my elder sister of three years. We became very good friends as we conquered our teenage years together. We have maintained a very strong, supportive bond for the past 20 years despite our distance of over 1,300 miles. Julia is a very educated, strong, intelligent woman. She comes from a motivated background of owning two of her own businesses, with multiple baccalaureate degrees. She is incredibly internet savvy. As with many people, she gets anxious when health issues do arise. We have discussed many health topics in great detail and have developed a pretty intimate health-support relationship. Due to this developed relationship, I would have asked her more detailed and personal questions than I may have compared to other people. Some questions that I may have asked of her relating to her concern about infertility would have included: "How long have you been actively trying to get pregnant?" "What measures have you used to try and help?", "Do you have any other health issues that you are having trouble managing?", and "When was your last physical …show more content…
This is a common issue that many women face, even I have gone to an OB/GYN for advice. I hear often how stress can significantly impact the odds of conceiving. "It would definitely be in your favor to book a massage or full spa day and let some stress melt away." I would also try to not let yourself get too caught up in feeling like there is a problem. "I read that it often takes time and dedication to tracking." Whereas, some women even find that not trying so hard is the key to stress-less conception. "If I were you, I would use the OPKs every cycle with a tracking app on your phone to help you keep a log of all of your monthly information." Let that be your log, so that you don't have to concentrate on it as much. "Just know that it may take time, and if it does then you have a plan to seek further
