Pioneer Susan Matney has contributed the nursing informatics since the late 1990’s. Mrs. Matney contribution involves the creation and implementation of nursing terminologies. Pioneer Matney serves as chair of the Clinical Logical Observation Identifiers Names and Codes committee (LOINC). Perhaps the most significant influence of pioneer Matney is the prototypical example of blending scholarship and practice. Pioneer Matney believes that nursing informatics includes components of nursing science, computer science and knowledge, and application at the bedside.
