Sanford is a very small town with a population of only 854 people. Even though sanford is a small town, it still has many things to offer. Sanford has an awesome schooling system along with a community that is very active in the school events. Sanford has a variety of landscapes to fit its diverse populations needs: a beach, forests, and farm land. Small towns are known for being a friendly place and having a tight knit community. One of the biggest parts of Sanford is the school and the activities the students participate in. One of the most controversial events that have happened in Sanford recently is is the school system switching to a new tech program. This program gives all of the students from kindergarten to seniors either ipads or macbooks. Not many people know much about Sanford, but a lot of people know about our high school band. The location is nice because the residence can enjoy the peacefulness of a small town but also be in close proximity to a big town. Sanford is also know for Sanford Lake: many people have cottages on Sanford Lake. The lake draws people in so they can enjoy the beach and fish. Sanford also has areas of wooded forests. There is many trails in these woods, which people use for hunting and riding their ATVS. The rail trail also runs through Sanford. The pere Marquette Rail- Trail is a 30 mile long paved surface that runs from Midland all the way to Clair. This trail is a safe place of residents to walk, bike or skate, without the danger of motor vehicles. Another part of sanford is farming land.
