Purpose: To inform the audience about the Locks of Love organization.
Thesis/Central Idea: Locks of Love is an organization which takes donated hair and turns it into wigs for individuals suffering from hairloss.

A. Attention Getter: Our hair is a huge part of our identity, how your hair looks can change how confident you are that day. Alopecia is a disease which results in hair loss anywhere on the body. It happens in one in every one thousand people. There is no known cure, but doctors are starting to suspect that it has something to do with autoimmunity or stress.
2. Hair loss from cancer treatment is the second most common reason for a recipient.
a. A cancer patient will lose their hair depending on the drugs given, the amount given, and the combination of the drugs. Hair loss in cancer patient happens approximately 90% of the time according to a study done by Ridderheim, 2003.
