Prisoners are not left without basic human rights. Prisoner rights is commonly and briefly talked about across the world today. Prisoners are in prison because one has done something wrong, they should be treated based on what one has done. In this world it seems as if Inmates get better treatment then the people who are "Innocent" and that do no harm. Prisoners have so many rights, and it is absolutely unbelievable how many they do have.
In Kristi Couvillon's article "DO PRISONERS HAVE A RIGHT UNDER THE EIGHTH AMENDMENT TO HIV TESTING ON DEMAND" "No Supreme Court case has held that prisoners do (or do not) have this right." (Couvillon 233) Prisoners will receive adequate care and the best medical treatment. Prisoners may abuse the right to HIV testing on demand. It will waste taxpayers money. It is also said in the article "To require that prison officials take reasonable steps to contain or thwart the spread of disease." (Couvollon 241) The failure to screen and test new inmates for HIV, and one does have the disease it could lead to a nasty spread.
Prisoners are expected to work in prison as part of their punishment. Prisoners do not have to work if they are religious or unfit for the job. Also, prisoners get educated and they require to 15 to 16

In the article "Prisoners Right Laws" it states "Inmates have the right to be free from discrimination while imprisoned." Prison officials are not allowed to separate prisoners by their race, or religion, Prison officials will try to make up excuses of why they separated prisoners to make it look like they were not discriminating when they really were. Prison officials can get into a lot of trouble if they are caught. Prisoners will have to show proof if they feel as if they were being discriminating.
