With the ability to control one’s integrity and harness the power to use his or her freedom correctly, anyone in the world can become successful. If a person has the integrity to stand up for what’s right and be proud to lead the way, then he or she will be successful because others with follow in his or her path. If a person has the knowledge to be able to use his or her freedom in the correct ways, he or she will find themselves on the path to success. Over the course of this past semester, we read many different passages from the book When We Are Free that gave great examples of how these things are true and when applied to everyone’s life, society will change drastically.
First, we must fully believe in the moral and practical superiority…show more content… From birth, each person has the potential to think his own thoughts and control his own energies in efforts to act according to those thoughts (pg. Individualism and Freedom” Vital Pillars of True Communities.) This shows that all people born under the same laws have the same ability to become successful with the right mindset. If each person is able to think his or her own thoughts, he or she should be able to make the right decisions and become successful. People continue to blame society for their wrongdoings and are unaware that they themselves are making the actions that they get punished for. In today’s world people are incapable of holding themselves accountable for what they do, if someone is unsuccessful and unhappy with where they are in life they believe that the rest of society should be punished in helping pay for them to live happily through taxes. If each and every individual were able to see that he or she is capable of making life whatever they want to, the world would truly be a better place, each person is born the same way and has the ability to control his or her actions to help themselves become…show more content… People would take other for granted and try to cheat their way into something that they don’t deserve. Reading the passages assigned from When We Are Free was very beneficial in helping me realize what is wrong with society and if all people were to read this book it would open their eyes to a different world that we all are truly living in day to day. When people take individual responsibility and freedom seriously, society will change because people will realize the benefits of taking responsibility for themselves and when they become aware of the positives that freedom brings, they will begin to see what they are truly doing wrong and how they will be able to fix the things that they are doing wrong in their life. Individual responsibility and freedom allow people to do things that they want when they want and how they want to do them.
