8) Integrity VS Despair: (older adult) Andrei most likely did not feel that he had a meaningful life. He was quoted saying, “I was a mistake of nature”.
7) Generativity VS Stagnation: (middle age) Andrei started killing at the age of 45; this may be due to the fact that he felt he was not contributing to society and he wanted to be remembered for something. In addition, by killing he felt that he was “cleansing” society.
6) Intimacy VS Isolation: (young adult) Andrei ended up living with his younger sister who took care of him and arranged a wife for him. He didn’t choose his family or his home.
5) Identity VS Role Confusion: (teenager) Though little information about Andrei was recorded during his teenage years, we can deduce that he didn’t form his own identity. He was loyal to few people, one of which included his sister, which may be a result of not fully forming his identity during this stage. He did not even make his own decision about who he would marry, instead his marriage was arranged. Also, He lived with his sister, and had never learned to be independant.
