Developmental Life Story Interview Analysis Capstone Project EDUC-P314 Elise Kasper For my capstone project, I focused on understanding cognitive, emotional, and social development through an interview analysis that offers information and context on personal growth, development, and human behavior. Through this essay, I explored the dynamics and experiences of the developmental journey of a 20-year-old female undergraduate student at Indiana University Bloomington. She explained her detailed journey from high school, in which she enrolled in classes to become more certain about her career path, which she was initially unsure of. Upon attending Indiana University, she chose to study Kinesiology and explore different career paths and interests, which led her to commit to pursuing a medical career. Her commitment to a medical career path, specifically as a physician, shows her successful navigation of identity achievement, where exploration leads to commitment through Erikson’s theories. This stage of self-identity is crucial during upcoming adulthood and committing to self-identity through her choices and social interactions. The interviewee’s experience during the COVID-19 pandemic was also discussed during the interview to focus on how a history-grade change affected her development through this period of isolation. The question specifically asked was, “How did the COVID-19 pandemic affect your personal and academic life?”. The interviewee then discussed the onset of an eating disorder during the pandemic, heightened by the isolation and stress the pandemic
