Interview With Jay Leno

I’ve noticed that Jay Leno has a big chin sticking out. It is the first thing a notice about him whenever I see him on television. Recently, I watched him interviewed by Oprah, a face to face status, where he seemed at his most vulnerable stage.What takes my attention off the big chin is how he used humor by chuckling as he is being interviewed. He tries to disguise his true emotions through humor. As though he is trying to prevent for his viewers from a harsh impact. The lengthy pause time that he used to think up an answer, his lack of eye contact with Oprah, his looking down, raised eyebrows, shoulder shrugs, hand on chin, hand over mouth, eye squints, and nose wrinkling, were all signals that Jay was out of his element and comfort zone. Unlike his interviews with his own guests his behavior, thought and emotion traits are different, which are filled with laughter, with him leaning forward showing interest, his eye contact to his guests, and wobbling head as to having fun. …show more content…
When his hand is over his mouth or over his chin it seemed like he was holding back and did not want to talk about whatever he was being interviewed. I also noticed he was holding his legs as though he was getting ready to the next hard question. He substituted his answer when he squinted his eyes as though he regretted something he did or did not do. The state of his face squinting indicated he did not want to answer Oprah’s question. Jay eyebrows were raised showing shame. His posture is reclined and he does not lean forward trying to get out of the interview. It seems he has trouble expressing his own emotions. As the interview goes on I see that he is not used to these interviews ironic since he interviews many people but he is a comedian, it is easier to hide his emotions through
