Explain whether or not the intruder is liable for his actions Yes. The intruder is indeed liable for his actions. This is because, he caused injury in the course of committing a crime. However, in addition to the criminal proceedings, the intruder also intentionally broke into Sharon’s private property without consent. Furthermore, the intruder is likely to face the civil court for intentional tort against Sharon and Daryl. In precision, the torts that did arise from the incident includes battery with intent to cause assault and harm if either the individuals saw the battery thereto before it happened.

This is involves avoiding exposure whatsoever. The apartment landlord should enforce security at the gate to prevent any intruders from accessing the interior. On the other hand, setting up cameras would help to keep away intruders and also expose their identity when a crime is committed. On the other hand, fixing the slipping doors, adding lighting outside the apartment would help prevent easy entry thus prevent property tort.
 Risk transference. This involves handing risk to a third party. Daryl should have contacted the authorities and awaited their action. Taking responsibility during crime is very dangerous.
