Task 1 is about finding the natural decay rate of iodine-123 in multiple thyroid conditions in patients and at different time-stamps. The rate of change of iodine-123 in a healthy patient at 12 hours is -9.8068 micro curies, at 18 hours it is -7.1441 micro curies, and at 24 hours it is -5.2044 micro curies. After knowing these decay rates one can deduce that the rate at which iodine decreases as time increases is a negative relation. At the twelfth hour the decay rate is about -9.8 micro curies and at 24 hours it is -5.2. Therefore, as time goes on iodine-123’s decay rate decreases less and less.
