Irvine’s bachelor’s degree, experience as a White House Chef, working on the royal cake and the Five Star Diamond Award are worse as the appear to make him look like he has considerably more experience in the food industry. These embellishments add a higher level of credibility to Irvine, which assisted him in landing his popular tv show. The fact that Irvine was a knight could be less objectionable because it does not apply to this particular job. However, the falsehood was unnecessary and a clear indication of his unethical character.
4. I would justify Irvine’s actions because he acted as an ethical egoist would. Meaning, that he acted in his own interest to win the offer of the tv show at all costs. In addition, he performed well on the tv show, which also served his own interest. Irvine “did what he had to do” to land the job, performed well, then was caught and fired for lying on his résumé. The fact that the show was successful assisted him while asking for forgiveness, which allowed him to earn the show
