Dear Jury Members:
Mr. Bennet should be found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt of murder. Even though the defense will state that he is not guilty, that is not correct. First of all, he was the only one at the party with traces of rat poison found on his hands. Secondly, he had to pay Mr. Adams $250,000 and he didn’t have that money. Lastly, Mr. Bennet and Mr. Adams were spotted shouting at each other hours before the murder.
The most important reason to find Mr. Bennet is that he had traces of rat poison on both of his hands.The cause of death was from rat poison and Mr. Bennet was the only person at the party that had traces of rat poison on his hands.Although he had claimed that it was from touching the puddle of coffee when he was checking Mr. Adams pulse, the rat poison would only have been found on one hand instead of both.
