The first example, is about Smith, who drown his six-year-old cousin in the bathroom to gain an inheritance. When the child was taking a shower, He sneaks into the bathroom and drowns the child. The second example is about Jones, He will also gain an inheritance if something happens to his six years old cousin. He planned to sneak into the bathroom and drown the child, but he enters the bathroom and he sees the child slip and hit his head and fall face down in the water. He is happy to see this and do nothing to save the child. James Rachel compared these two examples with medical case, and he concludes that passive Euthanasia and active Euthanasia are the same. If these two options are the same that mean abortion is the same as well because the mothers decide to kill the baby when the baby is still alive inside her womb is not this same as passive euthanasia. It is not, to me is different because the causes that relies the action is not justified to be nominated to be as active euthanasia. I' m not agree with what James Rachel said because killing is an act that a person make to bring death to a patient while doing nothing mean that you don't act to bring the death to a person, the patient die due to his own illness to me both actions are totally different. The patients have the right to decide how to end their own life, and this makes passive Euthanasia, and active Euthanasia different. A patient that is …show more content…
An example is from the essay," The way we do it, the way they do it" by Margaret P. Battin. She examined euthanasia practice in three societies, Netherlands where physician performed Euthanasia, Germany where suicide is allowed, but active euthanasia is not, and the united states where passive euthanasia is allowed, but active euthanasia is not. She concluded that physicians assisted suicide, and it works best for the united states as end of life practices. I agree with her conclusion only if a patient that is agonizing require to die. In another way it will be best if active euthanasia and passive euthanasia were legal because it will be better for a terminally ill patient to have a better option of dying. He is the one who will decide how to dies doctor only need to provide information and counseling if needed Either both options been assisted by a physician or not been assisted by physician are different ways of facing
