One reason for the United States neutrality 1920's and 1930's was because we were an Isolationist nation. Isolationism is a policy of remaining apart from the affairs or interests of other groups, especially the political affairs of other countries. The U.S. wanted to stray away from foreign affairs. When the Lend-Lease act was passed on March 11, 1941 the United States entered World War 2 because the act let them supply other countries such as Great Britain, the USSR, and other Allied nations. Neutrality soon ended after the act.
