Isopods Acid Solution

Isopods when given a choice between RO water or a basic solution favored the RO solution over the course of three trials (Figure 1). When the choice was between RO water and an acid solution the isopods primarily went towards the acid solution (Figure 2). When the choice was split between RO water and RO water, as expected the data presented an equal distribution (Figure 3). An unexpected result came when the isopods were given the option between a basic solution and and acid solution. In this instance and equal distribution was also found (Figure 4). RO water has a PH between 5 and 6 while the basic solutions has PH of 9.96. The isopods show a preference in the RO water because the RO water is more acidic compared to the basic solution. The
