The positive influence I have witnessed that the Navy has on my father, and my wish for the Navy to have a similar impact on myself is what sparked my initial interest in becoming a Naval officer. To an extent, I have already been significantly affected by the Navy. The lifestyle has sculpted me into the person I am today, and the skills I have developed through it are invaluable; my prowess in adapting and communicating, two abilities whose uses extend throughout everyday life and large leadership roles, are a culmination of what I have learned through moving. Without these skills, one would never reach stability in a new environment.

At the beginning of the year, the class I was leading as a flight sergeant in JROTC was falling behind the other classes, but by the end of the year, we ranked first among all of them. My failures motivated me and with the aid of others I was working with, I overcame the adversities at hand. Next year, as the JROTC Group Commander leading the entire program of just under 200 cadets, I seek to not only to maintain, but to exceed what the program has
