Jack got in his 2001 GMC Jimmy after a long day of work that has a smashed windshield that he cannot see from. This means Jack has to stick his head out the window so he can see where he is going.
Once he got to his lonely apartment, he found an envelope from Justice Canada in his mailbox about jury duty. Immediately his heart sank. A case can be up to a year long. State farm wouldn't have to pay him while he is gone. Immediately Jack emailed Justice Canada. He told them that jury duty would cause him undue hardship, because his life depends on his salary. Three days later he got a response that he would have to attend a jury duty lesson on January 17. This angered Jack, but he did not want to anger the government, so he decided to give it a try and he hoped it would be a short trial.

The room smelt like sawdust and had flickering lights. This reminded Jack of his work. They all had to watch a extremely educational but boring video about all of the laws and rules.
