In the novel Lord of the Fly's written by William Golding, Jack was the one person who would not take responsibility for his actions.

He had a terrible personality towards all the boys. He was rude, extremely arrogant, and jealous if any of the boys had any kind of success on the island.

His behavior was that he could do whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted to do it. And that one thing was to hunt, even if he wasn't very good at it.

Jack also believed that life would be great not having any rules to follow. Since there were no adults to tell him what to do, Jack felt that he could be the boss of all the boys. He loved being the one in charge of everyone so why would he want to be rescued from the island.
