A hero is someone who does something for the greater good rather than just for themselves. Matt Gentry wrote a story called “Hero of the Day” that shows what it is like to be a hero in the moment. The main character, Jack, gave his life in war so that the rest of his team could escape prison alive and well. Because of this, Jack is considered to be a hero. Jack is a hero because he made the ultimate sacrifice to save his team. One reason that Jack is a hero is that he came back to free his team from prison, where death for them was eminent.
