Jackie Robinson
Jackie Robinson was born on January 31, 1919 in Cairo, GA. He was the youngest of five5 children and was raised by his single mother. As a child he loved to play sports. He attended John Muir High School where he played football, basketball, baseball and ran track and lettered in all four4 of them. After high school he attended Pasadena Junior College and then UCLA and continued to play all 4 sports. He was forced to leave UCLA just shy of graduation due to many personal troubles. Robinson then moved to Hawaii, where he played semi-professional football until the season was cut short when the US entered into World War II.
