Throughout the main season, September – May, The Philadelphia Orchestra resides at the Jimmy Kimmel Center and host concerts at the Mann Center during summer months. The orchestra performs, not only in Philadelphia, but across the region ornamenting stages and audiences with harmonies from skilled flutist, oboist, percussionist, clarinetist, timpanist and hornist. The orchestra sustains many traditions by providing community engagement opportunities to ensure that children and adults can, personally, experience and have access to educational music enrichment. Also, these exceptional musicians dedicate their summers expanding their community involvement and maintaining international connections through concerts, research, instruction, and adjudication. These instrumentalist have received many awards for their contributions in the musical art world proving why they are the “cream of the crop”. To have these extraordinary men and women educate and facilitate young, passionate students toward producing authentic, innovative, and texturized pieces demonstrates their affection for their craft and musical arts. These extraordinary faculty members have been selected as Grammy nominees and winners and received scholarships and fellowships during their
