The idea of basic income originated in Dauphin, Manitoba, Canada it was referred to as Mincome. The effects of basic income on Dauphin included a decrease in, hospitalization and teen dropout rates, and did so without harshly affecting the employment rates. If tested in the United States universal basic income would supply each U.S. adult citizen with a stipend.
