"The Jamestown Fiasco"

First and foremost my initial thoughts of Jamestown is that these settlers were not patient. The idea of coming to a new world was exciting but the reality of real prep time was not considered. They were confronted with a lot of trial and error and could not handle the pressure. They acted irrationally by being reactive opposed to pro-active. The English came for riches and expansion but were faced with brutality.

Many of these people were far from home in a foreign land that they were not used to and were receiving orders across the ocean. These orders were being entrusted to a few people conducting leadership amongst the town and there was no real accountability. It would be very easy for there to be unrest and uprising during this time. People are not quick to trust others. The fact that there were strange "savages" living close by, fear spreads quickly. The motives for these Europeans seems obvious! It was to find wealth and expand an empire. Though it took lots of bloodshed and suffering they would stop at nothing to get what they came for. The entire mission was to build and export goods back to England. At the same time build an economy from Jamestown and further out.

The entire correction of "doctrines". The Catholic denomination being criticized for their beliefs and man made laws and their influence on believers. The puritans ran the show during the 16th and 17th centuries. The Salem witch trials being one of the major events during the 16th century. People were being accused of witchcraft by the authorities if there was any suspicious behavior. Religion has always held a large part of history. Wherever there is conflict, religion has it's piece of the pie now matter
