Jane Adams was such a hero because she would nurse the sick, help people who couldn't afford houses, provide education for all ages and take care of kids while their parents worked. The text states that Jane Addams' father was a wealthy businessman. The text also states that the wealthy would often treat the poor very badly. As a young child she had health issues and because of these health issues it made it hard for her to be active. She grew up and decided to create the Hull House where people who needed help in life could go.
