Bronte showed Blanche into her work to help bring forth Jane’s personality. It helped the audience see how different Jane Eyre. Blanche is a character who loves to be the center of attention while Jane Eyre hates to be the the center of attention. Blanche has a strong personality while strong personality never existed in Jane. Jane always wanted to marry out of love and does not care if her husband will have money or not. It’s like how Jane does not care that Rochester has money and she is willing to marry him due to love not money. Blanche in the other hand wants Rochester to be her husband because of his wealth. Blache doesn't even love Rochester’s personality, looks or intelligence. But Blache loves his wealth and that's all that matters to her. Blache highlights Jane’s strengths. Jane outshines Blanche in morals and kindness. Blanche was never kind to Adele in the novel. Once in the novel, Adele mistakenly told Blanche that Mr. Rochester was going to come home, but he didn't. So Blanche was furious and decided to be rude to Adele. Jane showed Adele nothing, but kindness. Blanche definitely emphasize Jane’s kindness in the novel. In the story. Blanche is beautiful in physical traits while Jane is just plain. But with foils, it shows the audience that Jane may be plain in her looks but she is gold in the inside. She showed nothing but kindness in the story, even to those who do not deserve
