This film is about an attractive middle- aged African American woman from Eatonville, Florida named Janie Crawford who searches for love, excitement, and adventure. Throughout the film she is portrayed as God’s beautiful gift and a wife to be, during the first couple minutes of the film Janie’s grandmother explains to her the importance of having a secure and stable marriage. Her grandmother’s ambitions for her were to get Janie married as quickly as possible. When Janie reached the level maturity she begins to be more curious and that opened up adventure and a whole new meaning to her World.
