Controlled Hunting In the winter of 2016, Jarret was on his way to Texas for deer season. Jarret is from Oklahoma and the seasons are different for whitetail deer from state to state. He arrived at the land he had permission to hunt and made his way to the deer stand to sit and wait for the right one. Finally, he sees the one; he drew back his bow and let the arrow fly. However, Jarret was unaware that archery season ends November 3rd in Texas but back home in Oklahoma it goes on until January 15th. When Jarret was leaving the deer area he was hunting, he was stopped by a game warden, and then he found out the mistake he had made. Jarret received two things that evening, a fine for $1,000 and the rememberable warning to research hunting laws in different areas he will be hunting. Many people in America have never been in the woods and even fewer have been hunting. Some people believe that hunting is cruel and wrong, but what they do not realize is how things would be if there were no hunting. If animals are not kept under control, then they will become overpopulated, however, if over hunted, a species of animal could become in danger of extinction. Also, just like an overpopulated species, an under population of animals can affect the ecosystem it lives in. According to an article titled “Causes, Effects,” the website states: With reference to how over hunting affects the interconnectedness of the ecosystem, it means other animals, trees, and plants are equally affected. As previously discussed, it causes either an increase or decline of a specific population within a habitat. When this happens, it directly impacts the natural habitat in that it gets rid of natural predation and population growth which in turn disrupts the food chain.
