HARMONY FALLS presents as a very compelling TV pilot. The pilot offers a chilling, psychological mystery. It combines drama with a supernatural touch. The pilot does an excellent job in creating solid anticipation and suspense ranging from the creepy and un-nerving visions, to chilling zigzag scars, to the unsettling image of the Bowler Hat Man.
Visual storytelling helps set the eerie tone. The pitch is ominous and unsettling, keeping the audience interested
Techniques that make for a strong mystery are used. Tension is solid. The supernatural events build anticipation, escalating and building the suspense. The pilot also offers a compelling twist at the end.
In addition, the pilot features complex characters.

The structure is well crafted. The opening teaser immediately hooks the audience, as it introduces the protagonist and introduces the mystery. The structure transitions back in time, which works well. It’s easy to follow.
Each scene reveals new information. There are several key pivotal plot beats that keep the story moving forward, as the clues are slowly peeled away. Each act ends on nice tension. The pace works well. There are intense and harrowing scenes, such as the events on the bridge and Paul saving Zachary.
The ending offers a solid twist that the audience doesn’t see coming.
With that said, there are a few areas that could use more clarification. The news reports that Paul is wanted for a double murder, but it’s not clear whom that might be. One assumes his son, Mike, but one isn’t sure who the other person is. It may or may not be relevant for the pilot.
At one point, Paul flees town after his son’s death, but it feels a bit awkward and unconvincing that he would leave without Anne. It may be that he wants to protect her and he knows he’s a fugitive, which feels
